  • Trax to the Future - Rail Advocacy in Wollondilly

    29 Jan 2018 - 4 May 2018

Wollondilly Shire Council held a rail symposium on the 9th of November 2017 called TRAX to the Future. The focus of the symposium was to bring together key decision makers and influencers to raise the profile of rail in South Western Sydney and in particular Wollondilly.

The rail symposium was successful in highlighting the issues facing Wollondilly Shire regarding rail and following on from the symposium Council is committed to continuing to advocate for better rail for the Shire.

Council has a number of strategies in place to campaign for more train services and better connections, as well as in the long term for electrification of our rail network.

These things are particularly important for Wollondilly commuters because while all of Sydney’s train passengers have felt the effects of recent industrial action, this is nothing new for the commuters of Wollondilly Shire who continue to face a lack of regular and reliable train services.

Council is seeking a commitment from Federal and State Government for public transport, in particular electrified rail, to support our growing community.
